From the desk of the President / Principal
What a year it has been for Holy Cross High School! I have never been so proud to lead our school boldly into the future. I am happy to proclaim the Lancer Spirit has never been stronger and continues to be one of generosity and service. We are most certainly blessed by Our Lord and Savior.
Our graduating class, the Class of 2014, is raising the bar regarding college acceptances along with an astounding increases in grants and scholarships. The Class of 2014 has been accepted to over 100 colleges and universities such as: Bryn Mawr, Wake Forest, William and Mary, Penn State, Catholic University, Loyola Maryland, Villanova, LaSalle, and my alma mater the University of Scranton, just to mention a few. As of this letter our graduates have earned twenty plus million in grants and scholarships. On the athletic field, Holy Cross athletes have brought home ten league or sectional championships. This surpasses all school years since 1957! We are very proud of the legacy this class is leaving Holy Cross High School.
Gifts to Holy Cross High School are continuing to increase as the fund raising year winds down. Our Annual Fund has grown by 27% and new scholarships to Holy Cross continue to be established in the name of alumni and their families. This year 28% in financial aid grants were awarded to families in need to attend Holy Cross High School. Gifts-in-kind were received that will enhance the campus and advance the world-class education we offer to our high school students.
Plans for the fourth annual Alumni Tailgate Oktoberfest are moving forward with this alumni appreciation day scheduled for October 18th in the courtyard. Make plans to attend this annual event and see the changes to Holy Cross High School. This event promises to be the biggest and best event ever!
Thank you to the many families, alumni and friends who stepped up to answer the call to help our students in a very direct way – by attending a school event or by making a donation. I am happy to say the mini campaign to replace the bleachers in the gym is at 40% of goal and the matching scholarship campaign has reached 30% of its goal. Reaching 100% of our goals by June 30th supports the ideal of Servant Leadership along with proclaiming your Lancer Spirit.
If you have not had a chance to give this year or if you would like to give again before our fiscal year ends on June 30th, prayerfully please consider doing so at this time. Any gift you make to Holy Cross High School will be greatly appreciated and helps to carry on our Catholic mission of education in Burlington County. I am so very proud to represent Holy Cross High School to the Burlington County community.
Remember, “You Belong Here!”
