From the desk of the President / Principal
Dear Friends of Holy Cross,
The floors are waxed. The fields are cut and lined. September is a great time for a high school, especially one like Holy Cross High School. With another new beginning, we continue to take the initiative and commit to being proactive. The marketing initiatives we are putting into place this school year demonstrate our position of leadership in secondary education and our commitment to be on the leading edge of educational advancement. Holy Cross High School is a school of choice for many in Burlington County and beyond because of our belief in educational excellence.
Last years’ Principals’ Appeal was very successful in raising $275,000 along with several gifts-in-kind. There have been renovations in the tunnel locker rooms, in transforming room 110 into a biology lab, and paving in the carport. These things have happened because of the time, talents, and treasure of students, parents, alums, and stakeholders. We are blessed with gifts that help our school grow in many ways. Thank you to those who have contributed to these efforts.
Please join me in wishing a happy and healthy retirement to the following faculty members: John Gamble (25 years of service) and Carole Lynch (26 years of service). Best wishes to Tiffany Rhea (7 years of service) as she begins a new chapter of her life. I would like to thank these colleagues for their loyalty and dedication. The Holy Cross community also welcomes our new members of the faculty: Mr. Dominic Cesare, who will join the Social Studies Department; and Mr. Christian Cantwell, the new Director of Admissions. Both of these men come to Holy Cross High School with a wealth of experience in their particular fields.
Much will be happening this year at Holy Cross High School. The school will be completing a self-assessment for the accrediting agency AdvancED. This is a diocesan wide school assessment. We will be implementing new procedures to further enhance the safety and security of the school to insure the wellbeing of your children. Back to School Night is scheduled for September 25. Open House is scheduled for October 18 and we will be asking for your help. Alumni Appreciation will be later that day starting with an Alumni Memorial Mass at 1:30 pm in the Auditorium. It promises to be an exciting year.
For the second year we will dedicate the upcoming school year to the ideal of Servant Leadership. We prepare our students to live our mission and demonstrate the characteristics of Servant Leadership. We expect Holy Cross students to do well academically and demonstrate characteristics such as: listening, compassion, healing, awareness, building community, and making a commitment to the growth of other students. I ask you to join us and incorporate the ideal of Servant Leadership as you begin to prepare for this school year.
I thank you in advance for your support and assure you I will always put the Holy Cross community first and promise to give everything I have to our parents and students I serve.
