Physical Education and Health

The philosophy of Holy Cross Health and Physical Education department is based on a fundamental belief in God and in the unique dignity of each person.  Our programs are designed to provide an atmosphere and environment of respect for life and health which foster a lifetime of spiritual, biological, cultural, and psychological wellness.

 

All students will learn:

~Health-enhancing personal and interpersonal life skills that promote morals and

  values as provided within Catholic Tradition
 

~The application of the spiritual aspects of those concepts, which will enhance skills

  and knowledge of responsible health and physical education throughout life
 

~Health promotion and disease prevention concepts; students will study

  health enhancing materials and methods
 

~Physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual effects of the

  use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs
 

~Spiritual, biological, cultural, and psychological

  aspects of human sexuality and family life
 

~To apply movement concepts and skills

  that foster participation in physical activities throughout life
 

~Driver education concepts that will apply to

  all aspects of operating a motor vehicle.

 

Holy Cross Students will graduate understanding the importance of lifelong application of physical and health related concepts as provided within the Catholic Tradition.
