Lance Bangs - Class of 1990

Lance Bangs is a videographer and director.  He worked the camera, and was on camera, in the movies "Jackass, the Movie" and "Jackass Number Two".  He directed and filmed the DVD extra "The Making of Jackass the Movie".  Lance was the video documentarian for the films "Being John Malkovich" and "Where the Wild Things Are" and will be directing the film "The Lazarus Effect".  Lance has also done music videos for Kanye West, Death Cab for Cutie, Sting, Pavement, Sonic Youth, Green Day and many other groups.  He hosts the show "Bangs" on vbs.tv.  In the photo above, he is on the right, behind the camera.  For more information, visit www.lancebangs.com

 

Christine (Coleman) Taylor - Class of 1984

Christine is a news director at WJZ-TV and WJZ.com in Baltimore.  After Holy Cross, she graduated from the University of Delaware and has worked in news at stations in Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh and Washington, DC.  

 

David Dougherty - Class of 1988

David, a cinematographer, worked on "The Camden 28" with his classmate Anthony Giacchino.  The film documents the Vietnam era war protest and the arrest and trial of 28 people for break-ins at draft board offices.  The film won awards for Best Documentary at the Philadelphia Film Festival and aired on PBS in September.  It is now available on DVD.

 

Anthony Giacchino - Class of 1988

Anthony created the award winning documentary "The Camden 28".  The film documents the Vietnam era war protest and the arrest and trial of 28 people for break-ins at draft board offices.  The film won awards for Best Documentary at the Philadelphia Film Festival and aired on PBS in September, 2007.  It is now available on DVD. His film "The Beltway Unbuckled" was featured on the History Channel in March, 2009.   Anthony's latest documentary on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy is currently being shown on the History Channel.

 

Michael Giacchino - Class of 1986

Michael is an Emmy Award winning composer.  He has written the scores for over 15 films, including "The Incredibles", "The Family Stone", "Mission Impossible III", "Up", "Star Trek" and "Ratatouille", for which he earned an Academy Award nomination.  He won a Golden Globe Award and an Oscar at the Academy Awards for the score for "Up".  Additionally, he has composed the scores for 11 television shows, including "Alias" and "Lost", and 18 interactive video games, including "Lost World: Jurasic Park" and several in the "Call of Duty" and "Medal of Honor" series.  Michael also wrote a symphony entitled "Camden 2000", which was performed by the Haddonfield Symphony Orchestra, and wrote the Holy Cross Alma Mater.  In 2009, Michael was honored as the conductor of the orchestra for the Oscar Award ceremony.  For more information, visit www.michaelgiacchino.com

 

Shawn (Hughes) Hughes-Camp - Class of 1973

Shawn hosted the Philadelphia cable show "Real to Reel" for several years, and has more recently pursued other interests, while maintaining close ties to Holy Cross.

 

Tim Kolesk - Class of 2000

Tim is a film director.  He has a graduate degree in film from USC, and has directed the film "The Substitute".  While earning his graduate degree, he worked for the production company Section 8.  His series "The Clean Up Crew" is an internet hit. His award winning short film "The 2000 Man", which he wrote as well as directed, has been shown at several film festivals.  Tim is currently a production assistant for NBC TV's prime time show "Community".

 

Michelle Kosinski - Class of 1991

Michelle is a correspondent with NBC news.  She has reported on a variety of stories from around the world.  At Holy Cross, Michelle was her class valedictorian.  She went on to earn her B.A. and M.A. from Northwestern University.  She worked at affiliate stations in several areas, including Miami, before joining the network news team.

 

Kelly Lobb - Class of 1999

Kelly is a producer with CN8.  She has produced the "Your Morning" shows and was nominated this year for an Emmy award.

 

Richard Matwiejewicz - Holy Cross Faculty

Mr. Matwiejewicz starred in a commercial for Primo's Hoagies that ran in the Philadelphia area, delivering the line, "It's a Primo!"  He has also performed in the play "Tony and Tina's Wedding" for several years, most recently as the father of the groom.

 

Dennis Mele - Class of 1975

Dennis Mele is better known to the public as "Dennis Malloy" on his New Jersey 101.5 radio program "Dennis and Judi".  Dennis worked at several Philadelphia area radio stations before taking his current position.  At Holy Cross, he was known for imitating his teachers, especially PE teacher and football coach Frank Paris.  He continued his impressions on the radio, once fooling Philadelphia Mayor Frank Rizzo into thinking he was talking to Sylvester Stallone.  Dennis loves to fish in his spare time, as you can see in the photo above.

 

Gregg Murphy - Class of 1989

Gregg is an Emmy award winning sports journalist for CN8.  A former sports anchor on CN8 News, he now hosts the program "Out of Bounds".  Gregg has won three regional Emmy awards.  After Holy Cross, he earned a BS from St. Joseph's University.

 

Gerard "Jerry" Penacoli - Class of 1974

Jerry has had a long career in television and film.  As a news anchor, including a decade in Philadelphia, he won 6 Emmy awards.  He has acted in many TV shows and movies, and is currently a correspondent on the popular entertainment show "Extra".  After graduating from Holy Cross, Jerry earned a B.A. degree from the University of Bridgeport, Summa Cum Laude, where he was also class president.  For more information on Jerry, visit http://telepixtvcgi.warnerbros.com/v2/about/hosts/penacoli.html

 

Gervase Peterson - Class of 1987

Gervase was a star on the first of the Survivor shows, "Survivor: Borneo" and on Bravo's "Battle of the Network Reality Stars".  He also had a recurring role on "As the World Turns" and has appeared on numerous other TV shows and in several films.

 

Jenelle Randall - Class of 1990

Jenelle has performed in a number of plays in New York and has appeared on several television shows, including "Law and Order; Special Victims Unit" where she played the role of Angela Franklin.

 

Alison (Robertson) Boris - Class of 1989

Alison has been in five films, including a principal role in The Sixth Sense, and in six television shows.  She costarred on The West Wing and Dawson's Creek, had a principal role on The Bold and the Beautiful and played a recurring part on Passions.  She has appeared in many television commercials and performs regularly in theater and musical theater productions.  Alison lives in California with her husband and children.  Find out more about Alison from her website:  www.alisonrobertson.com.
