The 2016 Special Olympics Club with Mr. Barry Harper hosted a basketball clinic and game for students from Bankbridge School in Gloucester County, NJ.  Our guests enjoyed a morning of various basketball  drills with coaches and students, a great game with the boys and girls basketball teams and a pizza lunch before heading home.

Thank you students, coaches and Mr. Harper for hosting this wonderful annual event.

The National Honor Society completed its annual Adopt-a-Grandparent project.  The members collected funds from students and staff over three days as ‘elves’.  Along with funds from a dress down day, the NHS was able to help twenty home bound or nursing home patients have a nice Christmas.  Thank you Sr. Claudette, NHS members and to the Visiting Nurse Association for helping us with this effort!

The Holy Cross Key Club is proud to announce another successful “Toys for Tots” campaign. Thank you to all who participated!  The Toys for Tots Representative said that over 16,000 families in Burlington County are helped by the local Toys for Tots campaign and that our three overflowing boxes would really help with that impact. Merry Christmas!

At Holy Cross, our students enthusiastically participate in many philanthropic activities.   Below are just a few.

Holy Cross is proud to announce that our students have sent thank you messages and Christmas greetings, via Christmas Cards, to active duty and retired members of the military.  Holy Cross has been running this program for the past three years.  We thank our retired bus driver, Mr. Frank Boyle, for his help with this program and to a current parent who has taken over the responsibility of getting the cards delivered overseas.  This year over 1000 cards were prepared.

The NHS (National Honor Society) collected a total of over 2600 canned and dry goods from each of the four classes during Spirit Week in November 2014.  The NHS members counted each class’s donations daily.  Thank you students and Sr. Claudette for organizing this drive each year. Donations were made to St. Vincent DePaul in Riverside and Catholic Charities Emergency Services in Delanco.  Please see the poster below. Thank you all for your generous participation!

The CAC club (Catholic Athletes for Christ) organized a Powder Puff football game in late November.  Money was raised for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.  Click below for photos of the event.   Click below for our 2014 Philanthropy Poster from NHS & CAC. Can Drive & Powder Puff – Web Version

BOYS & GIRLS BASKETBALL KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS TOYS FOR TOTS Each year Coach Harper and Coach Phillips take a few volunteers from the Holy Cross boys and girls basketball teams to work at the Delran Knights of Columbus Toys for Tots.  The team members give their time to help set up gift baskets for needy families in our area.  The students also collected some toys on their own.  Kudos to the students and coaches for volunteering to help those who are less fortunate.
